MADISON, Ill. (May 6, 2007) – Veteran driver Cory McClenathan turned back Hillary Will, driver of the KB Racing LLC-owned, Kalitta Motorsports -managed Top Fuel dragster, in the opening round of the NHRA O’Reilly Midwest Nationals at Gateway International Raceway.
Will experienced problems with tire shake at the hit of the throttle and never had the opportunity to make a full run at the win light. She now sets her sights on the next race.
With eight places up for grabs in the first segment of three that will crown this year’s POWERade Top Fuel champion, crew chief Jim Oberhofer feels that they will have the KB Racing dragster running for a place in the Countdown to the Championship as the team heads to the next race in Bristol , Tenn.
The NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series moves from the Midwest to the East for the seventh annual NHRA O’Reilly Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway, May 18-20.
