Moderators, I thought there was a forum dedicated to political threads. But we're getting more and more threads hijacked and/or started with political agendas.

In the main NHRA forum the Car Count Bristol (http://www.nitromater.com/nhra/14794-car-count-bristol.html) thread was completely hijacked, with vitriol that is stunning and embarrassing.

And in the Lounge there's:

http://www.nitromater.com/lounge/14840-thieves-again.html
http://www.nitromater.com/lounge/14830-quote-week.html

Isn't there a dedicated Politics forum? Where are the moderators here? Help, please? The mater's going down the same sewer that CompPlus went...

I'm not sufficiently qualified to comment or at least to view those treads but I found out a few years ago when the city first and then the state tried to close MY home track and drag racing in general [ noise laws ] that politics definitely has it's place in a racing forum.

After all where are you going to get the support you need when like me most don't subscribe to the politics forum.

J ROD asked that politics not use up the bandwidth because their is no way anyone is going to forsake their beliefs and agree on anything other than we like fast loud cars and he is right.

To that goal we have a common ground and the rest should be where those who want to participate can go. I Agree !

I belong to a political website or three and vent my frustration at the whole lot of the idiots in charge of this country and it's surely not party specific.

Politics has it's place but many feel like the idiots in charge will ruin not only the country and our lives by rote but take drag racing down with us, in that they are correct.
You can Ignore it and put your head in the sand or you can become informed and look for someone to vote for who most agrees with you.

I still go to my Dragstrip because a ton of people affected showed up at a town hall meeting with facts and figures about how much the city needed the taxes and the income from sales the track brought in .
Also the owner had in hand a proposal for limiting nose to certain hours weekdays and weekends longer to get in races.
Also included was the ability to extend hours a couple times a year for big races.
Political Yes , Racing Yes ! 02 cents.
You don't really want to hide your head in the sand till someone plows you under !

Ditto Brent. The thread was moved. However, it originally was not political in nature and I probably should have placed it in 'News and Information'. However, it IS still here....I know you hate that Bob.
