Whats with the Indian Giver stuff. He leased Ricky an engine for qualifying & then lets him us it until they run each other. Larry is a hell of a man. .

Yes I agree... they had made a deal BEFORE the race started on Fri.. If they had to race each other Larry gets the motor back.. In the post race interview, the kid said they had made a deal & he had no problem with it!!
Maybe I am a cult of one, but I find that a more-than-strange agreement. I'm not saying it didn't go down that way (it obviously did), but how much sense does it make to have to relenquish your qualifying motor when you need it the most?
The logic of that escapes me, and since I had no way of knowing such a weird arrangement pre-dated the race, itself, I assumed (incorrectly) that Larry just pulled the rug out from under the kid in the most effective way he could...
It worked, regardless of the ethics of it.
My apoligies to Larry. He won, fair and square.
That part of my post was an afterthought, though; the real reason I wrote that was that, the strange sight of two MoPars in the P/S Final bowled me over....
Like I said, I can't remember the last time that happened, but it must have been more than 20 years ago...
Nobody on this board seemed to notice.
I guess if they had nitro in their fuel cells, somebody might have paid some attention, but this isn't the "Gasmater BB," so, I guess it's to be expected.
Yeah,I saw that,a red light by Humphrey and a real bad one @ that,.145. That don't look strange does it? I mean if that had been John Force, the Mater would have run out of bandwidth.
Does anyone ever think that MAYBE there were no team orders, that Humphrey just did that on his own out of respect for his team owners. And that the only one that knows if it was a mistake or planned is Humphrey.

What was even more surprising to me about the final was that there were two Mopars in it and NEITHER of them was Allen Johnson. What's the chances of that happening at Pomona?

Allen really needs to work on his driving. He has a bad hot rod but has been terribly inconsistent on the tree this year...including red lights. He's lost a lot of rounds he could/should have won. If you're going to run with the big dogs, you'll have to drive as well as them. That's a heavy load since no one drives better than Jeggie.
Allen had three cars qualified and none of them won a round. Very disappointing.
That's a heavy load since no one drives better than Jeggie......or just as good?
I really think Dave Connoly could put an AJ car into the winner's circle many more times than AJ himself. That opportunity may arise for Dave......WHEN HELL FREEZES OVER
