Hedges Heads to Gateway Int’l Raceway

This weekend, Gateway Int’l Raceway will be the first stop on a three race divisional swing for Dave Hedges and the Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels blown alcohol dragster Team. They are currently sitting in the Top 5 in the divisional points standings and are having one of their most successful seasons yet. With a runner-up finish earlier in the year, they are looking to take it one step further and get the car in the winner’s circle in St. Louis.

“We went back to the shop after Norwalk and went through the car. I honestly feel like we have worked through all the issues that have plagued us so far this year. Of course, this is drag racing and once you solve one problem there is bound to be another one come up, but this Team is ready for anything and we are really excited to get back out there,” said crew chief Brian Pfeifer.

“St. Louis is a good track and during qualifying you should see some good numbers being run. But Sunday, when we run during the heat for the first time all weekend it is going to be a challenge for everyone. I feel good about our chances and I know Dave and the rest of the crew are anxious to get the weekend started. Come Sunday, hopefully things will go our way and this Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels Team can find its way to the winner’s circle.”

Qualifying for the 8-car field will begin on Friday at 6 PM. On Saturday they will get 2 more chances to make a pass down the quarter mile at 6 PM and 9 PM. Final eliminations begin at 1 PM Sunday afternoon. For up to date coverage please log onto Drag Race Central | Presented by Summitracing.com 1-800-230-3030.
