[coverattach=1]O’FALLON, MO (July 17, 2009) — Hardee’s Restaurants knows a thing or two about going back for second or third helpings, which in the restaurant business can be considered quite a compliment. So it is with great pride and honor that the National Guard American Drag Racing League (ADRL) announces that Hardee’s has signed on as an event title sponsor for a record third time in 2009 for the ADRL Hardee’s Gateway Drags II, Aug. 7-8, at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Illinois.

“We’re very excited about putting the Hardee’s name on a third National Guard ADRL race,” Hardee’s Vice President of Marketing and Media Steve Lemley said. “We’ve been involved with ADRL races in Georgia and Kansas earlier this year and the response from our customers has been nothing but positive. The ADRL puts on a great event and really knows how to appeal to our customers, both leading up to the race and at the track.”

Gateway International Raceway is located almost within sight of downtown St. Louis, just across the Mississippi River. Hardee’s national headquarters are in St. Louis and the National Guard ADRL is based in O’Fallon, Missouri, a suburb of the Gateway City.

“Being practically in our backyard, this is obviously a hugely important event to the National Guard ADRL,” series president and CEO Kenny Nowling stated. “Having Hardee’s as our title sponsor for this race offers a big advantage to us in that they also are based nearby, already understand our marketing methods and know what’s involved on their end as a title sponsor. I couldn’t be happier knowing Hardee’s in on board with us for a record third time this year.”

The Hardee’s Gateway Drags II will be the seventh of 10 scheduled events on the 2009 National Guard ADRL Tour. Currently celebrating its fifth full season, the National Guard ADRL is the world’s premier sanctioning body for eighth-mile drag racing. It features five professional classes with no fillers, making for a very fast-paced and exciting race weekend.
