Thanks for the well wishes everybody!! To the best friends in the world, nobody compares to racing fans, and I think you are ALL class acts!
Chris, wow, Ketchikan, Alaska? And yes, I'll be at Indy and Vegas2!
Bobby, thanks for the kind words.
I write this from our room at the Hampton Inn in Laurel, MD (not too far from you Karl, right? well, relatively speaking anyway).
The kids (4 of them ages 11-15) and I left Minneapolis yesterday around Noon. Drove to Howe, IN arriving there around 11pm. Left this AM by 8, drove by Cleveland where we picked up tickets to see our Twins play there next weekend. Splurged a bit and got seats 8 rows from the field by 3rd base. Then drove on here to Laurel, MD. We're going to hang out with my cousin tomorrow in DC (I've never been here before). On Sunday, we're seeing the Orioles in Baltimore, then driving up to NYC where we're seeing the Twins play the Yankees on Monday night (bought $12 face value tix for $280...ouch). Then Tuesday, driving up to Cooperstown to see the Baseball Hall of Fame (do ya think we're baseball fans yet?) Wednesday-Niagara Falls. Thursday-Pittsburgh to see the Pirates play San Diego. Friday-Cedar Point Amusement Park the Roller Coaster Capitol of the World. Saturday-Cleveland for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Twins-Indians game.
So far we've driven just over 1,100 miles and I was blown away by how beautiful it was driving thru Pennsylvania. Oh, my son Matt decided to keep track of how many different states on license plates we've seen so he's been writing them down. We're up to 38 already (and 2 Canadian provinces)!
Gee, I shoulda left this in a blog, huh?
