I'd just love to see him attend a race and have an interview or better yet put him in the booth for 1st round or something.

Always one of my favorite racers of all time. I remember first spotting him on Hwy 10 heading for Brainerd back in the early eighties. Pulled up behind a white dually pulling a fifth wheel trailer labeled "The Texan Top Fuel Dragster." A quick tap of our horn and a couple of thumbs up out of the window as we passed brought a response of a long blast of the horn, enthusiastic waves and two huge grins from the cab.

Happy birthday Eddie, and a chilly (eight degrees here today) hello to Ercie!

Hey Dad, :d

It Is Good To See You Are Still Around For Another One. It Has Been My Pleasure To Be Around In Person To Help You Share In Several In The Past . I Hope You Have Many Many More . Tell Mom I Said Hello And I Miss You Guys And The Sport Very Much. " Lets Go Racing Dad" . I Would Love To See You Put Something Together Again Because" You "are The Still The Best Tuner In The World. I Think I Could Still Put One Of Those Hot Rods Together Without Things Falling Off Of It . Ha Ha What Would It Be Like To Run 335?

Love You Guys

God, I miss the Nuclear Banana. Eddie and Ercie are wonderful people. I was so happy when he won the championship back then.

I remember being at Pomona in `95 when Eddie won the Winternationals. He had a pretty tough season that year, but he was definitely on his game at that race. Man, time flies!

I saw Eddie's 4.99 run at Ennis in 88 but my most memorable pass I ever seen him make was in Houston a year or so after it opened in Baytown him and Gene Snow ran side by side low 4.9's and the grandstands shook and its the first time I had ever felt that. Plus I think they set off every car alarm in Baytown.

Will never forget the year, 62?, Eddie showed up at the Indy Nationals with his dragster sporting dual blown Pontiacs with 4 slicks!!! NHRA freaked out when he tore holes in the starting line at the launch!!! Been a huge Hill fan since than.:D:)

Happy Birthday Eddie - 72 years young!!!:)

I was at the Southern Nationals in Commerce, Georgia about two weeks after Eddie Hill became the "First in the 4's" at the Texas Motorplex. Here's a couple pics I took of Ercie steering the dragster to the staging lanes. Not very good pics but for the camera I was using, ok I guess. Is Eddie a member on here?

Wow! Thanks for those pics from '93. The "Nuclear Banana" was such a cool ride. What really also struck me as cool was the fact that their chassis (I think the same one in the pics here) was 10 or 11 years old at the time they finally retired it and it was still kicking ass! I sure do miss that beautiful long blonde hair flowing from the cockpit coming up the return road as Ercie steered with one hand and waved to the fans with the other, that team was just such a CLASS ACT all the way! There are a lot of classy teams out there, but there will never be another team like the Hills. Hope you're enjoying your retirement!

You sound like you know your dates on the Hill photos pretty well. I didn't date my photos back then so I have to research or guess the year sometimes. I do have photos from 88 somewhere. Here's a quick snap I got one year as they walked past me in the pits at Commerce.
