Gremlin keeps McMillen out of Motor City Nationals

MILAN, Mich. (May 28, 2008) -- Terry McMillen took his Amalie Oil Top Fuel Dragster to the Motor City Nationals with high expectations. After three qualifying attempts the team found itself on the outside of the top eight and parked for Sunday eliminations.

"It's just one of those things," McMillen said after the race. "We are very disappointed because up until Milan this car has been very consistent. We just couldn't find the right set up for the track. Heck, I don't think we could have found the track if we fell onto it."

"We've just got one of those gremlins that hasn't shown itself yet. I've got the best crew in the business, so I know we'll get it figured out before the next race."

While McMillen was disappointed about the race, he was excited about the activation of the team's partnership with CMT's Trick My Truck. The Motor City Nationals became the backdrop for show stars Kelvin Locklear and Rob Richardson along with tricked trucks from the show. "Honor Roll", driven by Joe Poole and the recently completed "Rawhide" driven by David Goad appeared with Kelvin and Rob at the event to promote the "Trick My Crew" sweepstakes where fans will have an opportunity to join McMillen's crew for the IHRA World Finals in Rockingham. The promotion also features the new social network launched at MyTruck.CMT.com where fans can interact with the cast, McMillen and other enthusiasts.

"Those guys (Kelvin and Rob) are like rock stars," McMillen joked. "They were a lot of fun to hang out with and they really know drag racing. We were also able to talk about several other opportunities to work together. I'm pretty sure this isn't the last time you'll see these guys at a drag race."

The next stop for McMillen is the Torco Race Fuels President's Cup Nationals June 13-15 at the Maryland International Raceway.
