Google Earth

I've playing around with Google Earth again the past several days after uninstalling it a few months ago. Seems like it's working much better for me this time around. I've been looking at all sorts of things like: bridges and other landmarks here in Portland, Mount St. Helens, Mt. Rainier, Area 51, Hanford Nuclear reservation and other interesting things. It's amazing the level of detail available in some of these maps. Makes you wonder what the military has if this level of detail is available to the general public.

I can tell you that my sis works for the city attorney, and they have a better system than regular google earth for or with I should say, a much more detailed look at sites around town, like property or intersections because of accidents or somebody suing the city over a an issue, say a police weapon discharge... We've all heard the goverment thing about reading license plates for years and they say NO... They can actually read the experation date, along with the tag numbers on your plate and tell what your plate frame says... Cool stuff for a day when things are going slow... I'll bookmark the site again, and during a rainy qualifying round, I'll check it out... You may want to lay low for a while with all the places you flew over... :D Nevermind, I forgot about the dry run story... Carry on...

Hoover Dam is pretty cool. See boats on the water. It's cool when you change the plane and rotate, as if in a helicopter.

I LOVE going all over the world with that thing, looking at cars going down streets in so many countries. Someone I've chatted with online for years guided me through an instant message (as in turn right here, left there) to see where she lives in south London.

I also can waste hours playing around on google earth. I've got placemarks for all my family members, and also for the National event tracks, as well as almost all of the Div 6 tracks.

I waste too many hours playing this anymore. I'd rather practice taking over the world instead of looking at it. :D

World Domination 2 - Miniclip Games - Play Free Games

Two actions a round. Try to make resources one of them each time, splitting the rest of them between keeping your media/propaganda strength up and production/technology. If someone doesn't like you, you've got to spend the money on diplomacy/peace agreements to try to get them fighting each other. Steal...ahem...."acquire".... population through propaganda, but if you do the same country enough they'll start to dislike and attack you. LOL, pretty cool. Keep someone liking you until they're down on their knees with one small building left, then swoop in and finish them off with your seals, like the good hearted world leader that you are.

I have used Google earth for some time. gradually they have increased the resolution in a lot of areas. I don't know why they haven't yet integrated "steet view" from google maps into google earth. Sometimes I use Google Earth to explore the Morris Canal or abandoned railroad right of ways and bike paths.

EDIT TO ADD
also used it to explore the abandoned sections pf the pennsylvania turnpike where the tunnels were closed. Some areas are off limits to the public and this is the only way to see them.

Google Earth helps us at work a lot as land surveyors. It gives us a general idea of what we're in for on larger projects. I have also used it to find motels near race tracks and for directions for different things. Sometimes I just go browing to see what I can find. (hometown, relatives and friends homes)

It is helpful for me to do an initial site survey for a fireworks show. I can see the proposed firing area, decide where to put the crowd barriers and determine what size of shells I can shoot before I even visit the site. I use the measuring tool to mark off fallout zones and give a printout to the sponsor and local fire authority as part of the show sales package.

also an addict.
i like to look at port cities - it's amazing to actually see how many
freight vessels line harbors and rivers worldwide.
the one that surprised me was tahiti.
also like to look at varying sizes of airports worldwide.
dubai is amazing

you're right, it is; although this photo can't be too long after the
'o6 nationals as the general admission bleachers are still there.
they are removed at some point after the race, when i don't know.
