I was surprised how few pro mods there was too. There are so many cars that run PDRA and Mid West which are also 1/8 mile. I also found it odd that IHRA split Promod into Nitrous and supercharged. I’m guessing the late schedule release played into the smaller than expected fields.I just noticed that they are paying Pro mod 50K to win as well. I understand low car count for TF & FC but I would think the place would be packed with Pro mod cars. Flying H has be advertising their big 45K to win event in August.
I saw Krista Baldwin at a Nitro Chaos in Cincinnati a few weeks ago enjoying the diversity of the nitro cars. She is as upbeat and happy just spectating as she is any other time. She’s definitely no phony. There was no benefit to her in coming to the Nitro Chaos race other than the love of the sport and its fansfor their first go-round, i thought the race and the coverage went very good. i did not watch all weekend, but enough to get the flavor.
IMO the FC's were a better show than the TF'rs, but then again they were all battling high temps. 8 car qualified fields in both classes were great
for their first event. i enjoyed the camera work, including drone footage.
krista baldwin in the past has talked about how much money she tries to set aside for each race. it is obvious she is happy to let spencer massey
drive the car, IMO at least as much as her, if not more. i know she is a bubbly person, but she sure seemed pretty happy after losing a 50k to palmer.
We (Leverich) will be at Milan with Kyle Satenstein driving.I wonder if they get any new nitro competitors at Milan. Haddock is running in Europe the next two races. Ferre won’t be running there. Dave Gallegos is hoping to get the car back together in time. Not sure about Barker after the trip into the sand trap. There are plenty of other midwest cars that could show up that weren’t in Hebron. Just haven’t heard of any new additions as of yet.
Double Whack!!We (Leverich) will be at Milan with Kyle Satenstein driving.
Double
The late schedule made it tough for us to go to more as we’ve already got commitments to 5 NHRA races.
Chris, what is the latest report you are referring to?For the time being, IHRA has shelved the 500 ci pro stock class. They will not compete until they can get 8 entries. Also things are starting to get ugly with the Marvin Blaney accident. If the latest report is true, it’s not a good look for the IHRA owner.
There is always two sides to every story. I know nothing other than what is being posted by April Blaney who is Marvin Blaney’s wife. If your on Facebook you can look her up and follow her updates on Marvin. This was posted yesterday.Chris, what is the latest report you are referring to?
Thanks Chris. Prayers for Marvin and his family. There is always two sides to every story. I know nothing other than what is being posted by April Blaney who is Marvin Blaney’s wife. If your on Facebook you can look her up and follow her updates on Marvin. This was posted yesterday.
One of the first things I thought of.It belongs to those who put that car on the track in the condition it was in.
He spoke about the situation very well and nobody can bash him at all because he experienced the same thing, being extensively burned.lyle barnett. words of wisdom regarding safety procedures.
Sad turn, but I agree with you. This is a sad situation. I believe the IHRA owner showed up in good faith to extend his well wished in person and didn't expect the reception he got. I think I would have left too. The wife on the other hand seems to be the aggressor. Perhaps emotionally charged.
I believe the ultimate failure in what happened does not belong to the sanctioning body. It belongs to those who put that car on the track in the condition it was in.
Nevertheless, if the family puts up a Go-Fund-Me account, I will gladly contribute.
