MOHNTON, Pa. -- It has been a good weekend so far for Kenny Koretsky's Nitro Fish-sponsored drivers competing in the Toyo Tire Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway.

Richie Stevens starts 12th in the Nitro Fish/Indicom Electric Pro Stock Pontiac GXP; defending Pro Stock Motorcycle champion Matt Smith was No. 1 and teammate Angie McBride was 14th; and Clay Millican starts 13th in Top Fuel, driving the Nitro Fish/Hope4Sudan dragster.

"Team Nitro Fish made history," said a smiling Koretsky. "I'm happy for all of them and am looking forward to Sunday's eliminations."

Mechanical problems prevented Stevens from getting down the track on both Saturday runs, but his 6.653-second quarter-mile lap Friday held up for 12th. He races Justin Humphreys (fifth, 6.639).

A transmission glitch prevented Stevens from going into second gear on the first pass and a push rod broke in the motor on the second round, Koretsky noted. "Eddie (Guarnaccia, team crew chief) and the guys fixed it and everything is good for eliminations."

Millican races J.R. Todd, Smith meets Paul Gast and McBride faces Chris Rivas in their respective first rounds.
