(9-28-2007) MECHANICSVILLE, MD – With only two races left on the prestigious IHRA Knoll Gas Nitro Jam™ Drag Racing Series, it’s make or break time for Danny Rowe Racing. Currently resting in the 8th position with 372 points, Rowe still has time to get in amongst the top earners via two good finishes in the upcoming races.
While the 2007 season started on a high-note with a runner-up finish at the season-opening event in San Antonio, Texas; it has been trying for Danny Rowe and crew ever since. Bringing in a new car at roughly the half-way point in the season was expected to be a seamless transition, but was actually cause for a great deal of testing to figure out the new ’67 Chevy Camaro.
“Hey, we’re learning!” exclaimed an always-positive Danny Rowe. “It’s apparent that we aren’t doing what we wanted to, but we’re gaining a lot of ground and have kept our composure during a lot of tough times. You just have to look for the good in things like this and make the best of it. We’ve done a lot of testing; we’re figuring out what this car wants and are slowly applying what we learn on race day.”
Testing isn’t always as much fun as winning, but one doesn’t happen without the other. Building on the championship character of his team, Danny Rowe is going through the necessary motions to harvest a winning program.
“There have been times this season, well; time’s when it’s been really tough. We’ve done the testing, we’ve made progress and now we just have to catch a break or two. We’ve got the fastest car out here in the first 60-feet, but we have to make the transition and get down the rest of the race track under power. Down low, we’re doing what we want and as soon as we get passed that point - we’re tough to beat.”
Never down, never out; Danny Rowe, Jimmy Rector and the wealth of talent within their crew are always prepared to win – it just have to let it happen.
