What's Gilby Up To?

Bob Gilbertson has scheduled a press conference (open to anybody and everybody, including fans) for Friday, September 1st at 1 pm in his pit at the U.S. Nationals. He will be unveiling a new paint scheme for his Autolite/Prestone Dodge Stratus along with some other news.

From what BB/SJ has told me, this is the best looking car Gilby's ever had. No vinyl, paint and air brush work will adorn the flanks of their new Stratus (ex-Scelzi body) that weighs 35 pounds less than their current body and should really help their performance at Indy.

Wish I could be there.

All that I'm allowed to say is that the paint scheme is bad ass! My son Kevin and I are sworn to secrecy but we have contractually agreed ( )to use it as the paint scheme for his next Pinewood Derby car.

He's stoked about that.

If you read Gilby's blog on NHRA he drops a major hint that it'd be nice if someone did a tribute to Jungle Jim at Indy....He also told me he was running a new Jungle Jim body when I saw him in Brainerd
