surprised there is no post on this yet, but what the hell was nhra thinking? before the clones come out saying the right lane won TF final, the entire event was distorted and the outcome smeared by whatever the hell was going on in that right lane for most of that event.

it made for a pathetic tv program.

with the stakes so high, they really dropped the ball.

just my opinion....

was the same for everyone....yea it sucked but if ya run better than the other guy, then ya dont have to worry about it

T pedergone had his crying towel out as well.
moaning about the lane and yet Toliver, Brandon bernstein and several others made decent runs in the right lane.

But of course you could of done a better job,Right?

Nope-but its not my job to either. They have qualified folks and the equipment to do it. Their circus-their tent. After the 1st round, I barely looked up at the tv. If I had spent money on tickets for the event I would have been PISSED!

Mikes right and I have never understood why people get hung up on this. If you have a better car and run good in qualifying you get the good lane. You have to earn it. You don't just draw straws for it.

its not like there was any big difference to any other weekend really. One lane is always crappy and guys have a hard time getting down it, but I saw a few cars make pretty good runs in that lane, and hey Tony won in that lane against a really good TF car so I didnt really see a major problem

oh give me a break. first off, like a previous member stated, i'm not a multimillion dollar company, so i couldn't prep the track better. but i sure expect them to.

i'd be willing to bet that the tv ratings were crap and that the ticket holders werent too pleased with what went down, and they are the ones paying the bills...

Which gives us the answer to the burning question, how do you slow the fuel cars down and return to 1320.

STOP over Prepping the track. Sweep and Go, VHT down at the start of the event only. just my 25 cents.

d'kid

The TV ratings are always crap ... has nothing to do with track prep.

I understand both sides of the argument, make the better run so you get the better lane, but you would also like to go to the starting line with the idea that you have a shot. The only way to win in that right lane is for the person in the left lane to have problems.

Well hell... with that logic, let's grease down one lane with crisco!

Thanks, now a brief moment to clean the coffee out of my keyboard:D
Better qualified car= lane choice
one lane track= poor show
I believe it has been shown anyone can win at any given time. All conditions being equal leads to a better show for all concerned. Dunn put up stats showing all zero's in the right hand lane before the finals, then the lane got better? Yes the prep crew has a tough job, but isn't this what they get PAID to do?

still a fan of run what ya brung and hope ya brung enough, not how far do I back it down and hope the guy w/ the good lane screws up:rolleyes:

Yup, T-Ped was crying. Like always.

Fewer things make me happier than to see him and Cruz go out first round. Here's to that happening in Memphis at the hands of Team Force! :D

Worsham said the same thing as T-Ped.....right lane was junk---simple as that!

Come on Terry, clearly he is a JFR fan and is looking for any reason to bash the Pedregon Brothers. Wouldn't be ironic for Jeremy if the Pedregon's take out all 4 of the JFR cars in Memphis. I think it is hilarious that the past 2 years they have cleaned everyone's clock and took home the championship with less of a budget.

Sometimes I get wrapped up in saying this was fair or not fair to this team or that team.

Sometimes I forget about the folks at the Texas Motorplex who paid $$ and depended on the NHRA and Texas Motorplex to give them a side by side possibility in Round 1.

I agree that the one-lane track SUCKS. But it happens occasionally. I am just not sure why people seem to think that NHRA was not doing everything they could to make them even. I am no NHRA apologist but I am willing to bet that the track prep guys were as frustrated as anyone.

:::shrugs:::
