·Tasca’s next round win will be his 100th in the NHRA Mello Yello Series Funny Car category. Since Tasca’s rookie year in 2008, he has more round wins (8) in Gainesville, Fla. than any other driver except for Tony Pedregon, who has nine.

GAINESVILLE, Fla., March 16, 2013—Bob Tasca and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Shelby Mustang Funny Car team will race Matt Hagan in round one of the NHRA Gatornationals after qualifying p14 at the historic race.
Tasca drove to the 4.204-second, 302.35 mph run he used to qualify on Friday.
“Gainesville has always been good to me,” said Tasca, who drove to his first Funny Car victory at the Gatornationals in 2009. “We struggled a little bit today, but we have a full house this weekend with guests from Motorcraft and Mack Trucks and we’re ready to go rounds with this Motorcraft/Quick Lane Mustang.”
Only one driver has more round wins than Tasca at the Gatornationals since his rookie year in 2008. Along with the 2009 win, Tasca posted a runner-up finish in Gainesville in 2010.
He’s also on the hunt for his 100th Funny Car round win. Tasca has 99.
