FULLER FINISHES SECOND IN ORDER AT JOLIET

JOLIET, Ill. (June 9, 2007) – Rod Fuller and his Rob Flynn-led race team proved they have the most consistent Top Fuel dragster on the NHRA circuit after qualifying second for the fourth time this season. The four-time NHRA Top Fuel winner raced his Fabick CAT dragster to the No. 2 qualifying position Saturday at Route 66 Raceway.

Fuller’s quickest qualifying attempt came Friday evening under the lights at the Chicagoland track when he used Flynn horsepower to clock a career-best elapsed time. The Las Vegas racer blistered the Route 66 Raceway quarter mile in 4.464 seconds at 328.54 mph to card the No. 2 qualifying slot. It is the fifth time in his career that Fuller has qualified fifth in the 16-car order. He will make his 51st Top Fuel start on Sunday morning. In early May, Fuller qualified the Fabick CAT rail on the pole at the St. Louis event. He has two poles this season.

“I’m excited about starting No. 2,” Fuller said. “I don’t think it was a reward to be first at this race and have to run Doug Kalitta. I wasn’t bummed about qualifying second. We got a career-best E.T. and we do well here at this track. I have confidence in Rob (Flynn) and the crew and with Brandon (Bernstein) not qualifying, we’d like to come out of here with the points lead.”

Fuller will face off against No. 15 qualifier Scott Palmer in the first round of Top Fuel eliminations which begin at 11 a.m. (CT) at Route 66 Raceway. ESPN2 will televise three hours of final eliminations coverage at 4 p.m. (ET) on Sunday.
