GRAND BEND, ONTARIO (August 17, 2011) – With rain cancelling the final two rounds of the recent PBSS event, these two races must be completed before the victor is decided in round four of the Pro Bike & Sled Series presented by Wiseco Performance Products.

This new drag race series for motorcycles and snowmobiles was competing August 7 at the Grand Bend Motorplex in the Stratford Spectacular Hot August Nationals presented by Ideal Supply & NAPA Auto Parts when rain forced postponement of the event.

These races will be held at the Grand Bend Motorplex during the Teamsters Canada Local 879 “Thunder by the Beach” weekend September 2-4. When these races are completed, the PBSS will continue with round five of its six-race 2011 schedule.

Three Pro Bikes and one Pro Sled will by vying for the victory. Qualifying number one was Jim Bernier of Stratford, Ontario, with a 7.930, and he will go up against Bob Beaudoin of Techumseh, Ontario. Bernier rides a 1982 Suzuki GS and Beaudoin will be on his 2001 Ski-Doo.

In the other semi-final, present PBSS points leader Randy Hope of London, Ontario will ride his 1978 Kawasaki against the 2004 Suzuki of Dan Cryderman of Thamesville, Ontario.

Presently leading the 2011 PBSS Championship Point Award Series presented by Wiseco Performance Products is Hope with 855 points. Second is the Pro Sled of James Miller of Orillia, Ontario with 791 points, and next is Cryderman with 779 points.

Another Pro Sled rider, Dave Marshall of Prescott, Ontario is fourth with 778 points, and fifth is Bill Anderson of Seaforth, Ontario with 772 points with his Top Sled ride.

Along with action in the PBSS, its companion drag race series, the next races in the Pro Modified Racing Association and the Quick 32 Sportsman Series will also take place during the September long weekend at Grand Bend.

The weekend will also feature Nostalgia Nitro Funny Cars, a wheelstander and jet car action.

On Friday September 2 there will be a Test & Tune session beginning at 11 am, the gates open to the public at 3:00 pm, and the first qualifying round in the PMRA, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the PBSS takes place at 7:15 pm.

After Time Trial sessions for Bracket racers on Saturday afternoon, qualifying continues at 4 pm for the PMRA, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the PBSS, as well as round one for the Nostalgia Nitro Funny Cars, Wheelstander and Jet Cars. The semi-final PBSS eliminations for the postponed Stratford Spectacular event will also take place at this time. At 7 pm qualifying and the show cars return, and the evening closes with fireworks. The final eliminations in all three series from the postponed Stratford Spectacular will be held just before this regularly scheduled show.

At 11:15 am Sunday September 4 eliminations begin along with a return of the Nostalgia Nitro Funny Cars, the Wheelstander and Jet Cars. Eliminations for the PMRA, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the PBSS will continue through the day, with the final rounds scheduled for 5 pm.
