BAYTOWN, Texas – Defending NHRA Division 3 Top Alcohol Funny Car Champion Chris Foster announced the signing of Forbes Construction, Inc. as primary sponsor for this weekend’s Division 4 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Houston Raceway Park. Foster enters the event second in Division 4 standings.
Foster, from Davenport, Iowa, is excited about bringing Forbes on board for this weekend’s event.
“We’re really pleased to have Forbes Construction partner with Foster Racing this weekend,” said Foster. “They are using the event to entertain company employees and guests. The car has been running pretty well lately, we’ve just been on the wrong side of some really close races. Hopefully we can make a strong showing for our new sponsor.”
Team Crew Chief Will Hanna cites this weekend’s event will be a change for most of the teams as they have to start transitioning to their hot weather tune-ups.
“It’s been pretty mild this year weather wise,” stated Hanna. “Once the track
temperature starts creeping up above 115 and staying there for most of the day, you really have to approach your tune-up differently. We’ve been trying some experimental things at the last few nationals that have shown some potential, but we’ll be going back to our proven tune-up this weekend.”
Qualifying begins on Friday with one session, followed by one final session Saturday afternoon. Eliminations begin with round one Saturday evening and final eliminations will conclude the event on Sunday.
