Do you remember a guy name Porter Donn from Tulsa who put a Top Fuel car together back in the mid 80's? I had just moved from Sapulpa and remember that name. Did he finish the car and go run it? Being from the area I always liked the local no money fuel racers?
Remember Mike Young with the Black Hawk Funny Car? He still lives in Sapulpa.

Didn't Porter Donn drive an Alky Funnycar under the name Kansas Twister?

That sounds familiar. I also may be mistaken on him driving a Top Fuel car but there was a low buck guy from Tulsa that did run a fuel car for a bit.

There were several though the years. One that comes to mind is Chet "The Jet" Garrett who later tuned for Marvin Graham. As was documented in ND Chet passed away about a year or so ago.

I believe Rick Sherrill drove the Tulsa Shaker fuel funny car in the 80's and early 90's.
