That's interesting information.....some questions come to mind:

1. If an event only has, say, 13-14 entrants, are the prizes adjusted or does the "leftover" money roll back into the pot?
2. I wonder how this compares to the past awards?
3. No info about purse money for Pro-Stock and PSM? Curious as to what that is or will be.
4. When it speaks of 4 and 5 session events, I assume this pertains to qualifying; if so, what if weather holds qualifying rounds to only one or two? Is the money adjusted?

Is this sort of how it has worked in the past? I've always been curious how this system works.

would like the see a presenting sponsor be able to throw additional purse money at a particular nat. event if they want.

Since the I side has been publicly touting money for competitors to win over having 2 dozen blocks to fuse - I think they are trying to keep customers because, let's face it - over the years there's been plenty of hub bub over where all the money goes and how fat are your cuff links with nary an answer to the average person who really deserves better, don't they?
Good competition when notes are compared becomes better competition and if I might make a comparison using Martin as an example, the MWDRS is running their Northern Nationals series there and it's around $40/ day GA and the Great Lakes Nationals are hovering almost near the C note range for a day / GA.
Now most avid fans will know that the car count & level of competition may not even be close, but for a family - $40/pop is easier to handle than $90 - so if it's a family oriented thing as it's supposed to be, it should be affordable for most folks. It may help explain more about open seats vs sellouts too. Not everyone is at the gates when they open and are napping in the turf waiting for the line to thin, many watch for several hours or less & bail.
It was good to see it happen and they can do more & better things like this!

But that same family wouldn't bat an eye to go to a Pro Ball sport that only lasts a few hours and pay stupid amounts of money to get in.
