Jeff Courtie: A pair of pretty sound careers
From Funny Car racer to movie sound engineer, Jeff Courtie has led an amazing life
Just thought I'd paste this on the Mater.

Everything comes to an end, but that doesn't mean you have to like it.
Ed has a new shop (2013) in Newbury Park CA. "Ed Pink's Garage"I'll send a note to the writer to change "nitrous" to "nitromethane." Im sure he would appreciate the feedback.
If I understand the story correct, Ed sold the business sum 20 years ago and leased out the building to the current owner. He spent a good part of the month up north somewhere in his mountain home and would come down from time to time. What happens to the operation is up to the current owner.

I heard from Alan Gillis late last year, (passed away in Dec of 2022) that Bob Brant was running the dyno at Ed Pinks old shop in Van Nuys on the weekends by special request, for anyone who needs an engine dyno.Jeff, I didn't know that. Bob is one of the people that has been in contact with VHS recently.
Last I heard was that Tom Malloy bought Ed's shop and was having someone run it for him. The city/county wanted the property for a new rapid transport/bus, train station and was going to demolish it prior to the 2028 Olympics. As of Saturday, when I checked there is no more link to the Ed Pink Racing Engine website and no answer at the given phone number. Ed Pink's Garage was shuttered years ago.
Bob has been coming in the VHS from time to time and helping our guys put together engines and other tasks.
i think it was "Ed Pink's Garage"...try Googling it, I can't check it where I am at right this minuteYou mean here: https://www.edpink.com/merchandise/
If anyone else wants a book, you can try here: https://www.autobooks-aerobooks.com/
I sat behind him and a few seats over at Larry Dixon's memorial service last month, but unfortunately he went one way and I the other. Never got the chance to say hi to him.

From Ed Pink
I sold my business (Ed Pink Racing Engines) to Tom Malloy over five years ago, and it continues to stand on its own with Frank Honsowetz, who was my GM for many years, at the helm.
The last time I talked to Bob Brant (a couple of years ago) he said they were busy doing engines for customers, also there restoring a 1930 era Indian Motorcycle.According to Ed's new book, he sold the business to Tom back in February of 2008.
It would be a shame if they have since closed the business due to having to move. Ed also wrote in his book that he never owned the Van Nuys property, so there would not have been big $$ from the sale of the property to relocate Ed Pink Racing Engines elsewhere.
Ed's "new" shop is just a real small operation where Ed can tinker with his toys. I don't think he does much outside work there.
