However, Look at the reaction times and the numbers. This was a classic BS race. I don't believe in Multi-car teams and the way they race eliminations.

Well the silly season is on. Come on February '09

Eddie K. still won with a .361 light....hmmm Andrew Hines probably didn't see him anywhere around and clicked it off.

What do you expect? There is alot for Eddie to lose for the team both financially and promotional wise if Andrew wins. Any other team would do the same thing. Congrats eddie! Way to go!

You can't tell me that if that were Matt & Angie that she wouldn't have done the same thing.

I know and like Eddie personally.. (I race at E Town) I'm betting he was told "Don't Leave Until You SEE GREEN" And Andrew was told Be Sure you SEE EDDIE IN FRONT at the 1000' Imagine if Ed went RED.. he would have lost he championship..

If people don't like it.. have NHRA "Drop the Countdown" !!

And I don't blame them, I'd bet the house ANY other TEAM would have done the same!!

I seem to recall reading somewhere when NHRA originally announced the Countdown, they said there would be serious penalties for any team mate BS to decide the Championship. Guess they forgot that part.

The thing that burns me about this situation is if Eddie is truly the Champ and Championship worthy, he should have been good enough to beat Andrew flatout. Just my opinion.

Seeing a guy win the championship without getting a win is BS enough, a fake race is all the more crappy.

I'm banking on the countdown going worldwide, that way my Lions can be the champs of the nfl and still go winless

Eddie seems like a decent guy and I wouldn't have cared one bit about him winning the championship but I am sick to my stomach that they weren't able to better orchestrate that "give me" round. I knew it was going to happen but "yuck" it was just too darn blatant. And I think it showed in the post race interview of Matt Hines and Eddie in the Winner's Circle. I'm afraid that the whole championship will be somewhat tainted in the eye's of the Screaming Eagle team and their fans. Congrats anyway.

Congrats, I was hoping Rivas would get it, but o well...

I did enjoy reading this though...

"I did what I was supposed to do as a rider. I took out the reigning world champ and kept him from having the number-two spot, and I feel fantastic about that." Good on ya Chris, stick it to him! :)

you are a joke, it shows that consistency wins championships. Eddie did what he needed to do when it counted, and that was go rounds in the countdown. Dont steal the guys thunder just because his team mate helped him win; congrats to Eddie and the whole Vance and Hines team! Just shows you who the most consistent rider out there is....

One of the worst "dives" ever. If NHRA warned teams about this then they should step up. Then again sometimes I live in a dream world.

I got no problem with dives, but that one was ridiculous. Just dont make the pass Andrew. That looked horribly bad. Thats one problem with this crapdown, its going to entice alot of dives at the last few races.

Did any of you griping about the outcome of the Krawiec/Hines matchup really expect anything different? Team mates, one who is guaranteed the championship with a win, racing each other in the semi's. If you really thought there would be a different result I have some ocean front property in Arizona I would like to sell you.:p Treble/Ellis, Smith/McBride would have had the same result. Like Mike Dunn said, it looked like Drew did a bad job of red lighting and then had to figure out how to give it back to Eddie. If you look at the 5 races the bikes competed at during the countdown, Eddie has 4 runnerups and a semi final. He qualified 3rd, 1st, 7th, 2nd and 2nd during that same stretch. That would be hard to beat. Congrats to Eddie and the Vance & Hines team for their Championship.

Yep, he was consistent all right. Never made it past the semis and went past the first round just 4 times before the countdown. A true champion.
