Joe, they did the same thing at Vegas1, although the second Friday session starts even earlier, at 4:30. One possible reason I had heard was they're trying to avoid having the one "hero session" but this doesn't add up because there are other events that have a late 2nd session, starting at 7pm, as well as the fact that NHRA adopted the new qualifying format. Who knows? Obviously not me, I just know I'll be there! See you there Joe.

I think they are trying to avoid cooler track temperatures this early in the season.

Funny thing is, this is the midwest. Track temp could still be 100 degrees at 7pm, or 60. My bet is, it still won't kick off till around 7pm. I'm trying to remember the last time the 2nd session started on time on Friday night. I think it may have been around 91 or so...lol I know 2 years ago I think it was, round one started at 10:30pm.

Well, this is SE Texas in March that we are talking about. It's been in the 50's after the sun goes down as recently as last night and high 70's/low 80's during the day. I can definitely see their logic on this one. Especially, if there's as much cloud cover as they are forecasting.

50's? I'll make sure I wear my shorts!:D

LMAO! And here I was thinking I'll bring a light jacket. ;) Actually, the forecast says lows in the low 60's all three days. Highs in the low 80's.....with a dreaded 30% chance of scattered 'stuff'. I think we can deal with scattered though!

What's the matter Mark, don't believe in Global warming??:p;)

Global warming? Hmmm, never even heard of it.

Actually, I'd say global warming has been going on for thousands of years when you consider Earth emerged from an ice age about 10,000 years ago and has been warming (albeit slowly) ever since. In Minnesota, we just had what seemed like an ice age for a winter, 100-something consecutive days (yep, about 3-1/2 months) where the temperature didn't get above 40 (much less 32). This winter has absolutely sucked. So, 50's will feel like the tropics. Can't wait!

Heheh.....

The lows are now predicted at mid-60's. Who knows? The best I can say is prepare the worst and hope for the best! :D

Wahoo! The local fox channel is now predicting Mostly Cloudy instead of Scattered T-Storms for all 3 days.....still 20% chance of precip. Lookin' up folks! :D
