A Champion in the DragParts.com Blown Alcohol Thunder Pro Comp Series will be crowned this coming Saturday at Renegade Raceway in Yakima. After four events, the defending Champion and current points leader, Brent Jones, in the “Lawless Racing” funny car entry is fighting off a late season surge from the 2014 Champion Dane Lachelt behind the wheel of a blown alcohol dragster. Only three points separate the two drivers.
Third place is currently a tie between Kelly Flansaas, in the “Rocky Mountain” funny car and Rich Bailey driving the “Capitol Auto Group” dragster. The pair will face off in the first round to decide a tie breaker in the event they remain tied at the conclusion of the race. Other entries expected include: Alvan Behar driving the “Reaper” altered currently in fourth place, Elaine Sellers in the popular “Lady Elaine” funny car and Medford, Oregon’s Frank Miller in the “Bee Line Express” altered.
Gates open at 11am, Saturday September 17th with the DragParts.com Blown Alcohol Thunder car racing at 3, 5 and 7 PM. The event also includes a Volkswagen race Presented by Steve Hahn VW, Juniors and Grudge Drags. Admission is only 10.00 at the gate. Kids 12 and under free.
