drag racing movie info (1 Viewer)

i remember watching a movie years ago that had a guy that went to a major drag race. on the way he totaled the car and ended up with a primered willys. by the end of the movie he and the town punk both had blowers sticking through the hoods and races in the finals. (i know, typical movie)... does anybody remember the name of that movie. it was made to resemble the era of front motored dragsters and gassers.

It was called Hot Rod.

It was an ok movie. The Kid was Sonny Munn? Munn's Root Beer?

I liked when they took the hemi out of the cop car.

I havn't seen it in YEARS. The video store down the road had it to rent when I was growing up. I got to see it a few times.
