DRAG RACING CHAMP VISITNG SOUTH AUSTRALIA

The rural township of Murray Bridge in South Australia is set to be transformed into a car lover’s paradise when the inaugural Murray Bridge Autofest roars into action on the Australia Day long weekend (January 26-28).

Headlining the octane fuelled event is Australian Drag Racing champ Brett ‘The Boss’ Stevens from the Jack Daniel’s Racing team, who will be firing up the crowds with a smoking driving display on the burnout pad in his infamous 2,000 horsepower Burnout Ute.

“It has been over a year since I was last down in South Australia but I love coming back here, the reception that we get from the local motoring fans is always fantastic,” Stevens said.

“The Autofest is shaping up to be a great event as well with a variety of events and displays for the crowds.”

“I will be focusing on the burnout pad though where I am planning on going through a few sets of slicks giving the people a show they won’t be forgetting in a hurry.”

“There will be plenty of burning rubber, noise, smoke and most importantly everyone will be having a good time.”

As well as the burnout shows Stevens will also have his Drag team on display including his 3000 horsepower Jack Daniel’s Racing BF Ford Falcon Top Doorslammer.

Stevens is one of Australia ’s leading Drag Racers and is the only person in the world to compete in three professional Group 1 Drag Racing brackets simultaneously (Top Doorslammer, Top Bike and Top Alcohol).

Some of his recent Drag Racing accomplishments include winning the 2004 Australian Top Doorslammer and the 2005 Australian Top Bike Championships, member of the Australian Motorcycle Hall of Fame, holder of the quickest Australian Harley record with quarter mile run of 6.4 seconds, as well as various other records and titles.

The Murray Bridge Autofest is expected to be one of the largest automotive shows in South Australia and will feature a variety of motoring entertainment including burnouts, motorkhana, go-to-whoa, show and shine, dyno competition plus lots more.

Stevens will also be making a special guest appearance to sign autographs and meet the fans at the Bridgeport Hotel bottle shop on Friday January 26 from 6:00pm-7:00pm and the Murray Bridge Community Club for the official Jack Daniel’s Racing Autofest Party on Saturday January 27 from 9:00pm-11:00pm.
