Seeing what IHRA is paying for their nitro series got me thinking: Given the scope of NHRA, do they operate on a tighter budget than many people think?
Are the funds there to pay out more? Are the NHRA executive salaries in line for that size of an organization?
I'm gunna start jumping into the pool here - so if anybody gets heated about it, pile on - my back's junk but I still have broad shoulders to pad the fall...
Though I will readily agree just about
any bidniz must operate on a little shoestring - but there is likely a load more Chiefs runnin' around "maintaining" their "career" than Indians (READ: working)
and the guys like (IDK his name, but
he IS Mr. Helpful on the top end ~ popping HANS, taking gloves - wrapping chutes. I KNOW Alan absolutely knows his name AND is friends with..one of the few real men that has the 'nads to wear a beard in that heat LOL!) ... People like that Gent & folks like Penny Gernes are
just the kind of people that MAKE this thing
go, AR fits in there too - but obviously there are management problems from where my lane of perception is and being PC too much to a crowd that doesn't care about that, they want racin' !!. Color me wrong if you please...
I worked in manufacturing the majority of my previously enjoyed working days (see what I did there?) and at every level of "management" I saw plenty of fat to get rid of - but when you're working so hard at looking like you're value added - then they too will lie for another paycheck...American society has gone blind to the wink, nudge of BS so long most accept it as "that's just the way it is"
Ask a certain former long time announcer his opinion !

I would like to know as well, but I try to respect the man's privacy greatly, something that's almost ALWAYS expected in a public figure...
Yaknow, "turn your head & cough, WHAT?? Here now in PUBLIC????"

that kinda expected.
As far as Alan goes - he IS the workin' man's voice (something the wannabes will NEVER touch) and
announcer, I will actively seek out where & when I can listen in and enjoy his calls, I haven't watched very many Nats this season, and I can say not having him available just isn't gettin' it IMO and IDC if all I ever do is watch divisionals my last days on the planet. I worked one place 30+ yrs. and got crapped on no matter what the people I worked with said, because if you ain't management then you don't mattaH. (READ:
U ain't $#*&T!!)
That was my situation and everyone of those scenarios is different for every
single person, I am sure he has plenty of opinion, but he has always been good at watching his P's & Q's under a scope. Today isn't any different I'd be willing to bet. . .
