I was reading TJ's blog and I see Jeff and Team Kalitta are shaking down the car in Martin, MI (TJ is testing also). The best of luck to the entire team this weekend and the rest of the year.

twenty minutes from my house...and I'm stuck painting the bathroom today and tomorrow...arggggg!

I can't say how fitting it is to have Jeff Arend representing DHL, and Scott's memory. A class act all the way. Good luck in testing...wish I was there!

As much as I like the Kallata's, and the fact that Dave is a personal friend, I have to say we have had dreadful experiences with DHL and would implore anyone to avoid using that company for shipping anything.

So there is no problem with them testing? Maybe I missed something but I thought no more testing was allowed until the nitro deal got squared away. Don't think I'm against them testing because I never understood how NHRA could tell you what to do on your off days anyway.

Martin is an IHRA track.

Jay, I respect your opinion and the right to express it. This is one time I have to say mom was right though......"if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything". Chasing sponsors is hard enough without the target market going on the record saying something like the above.......:(

On the other end of the spectrum,I have had several good experiences shipping with DHL.

Mel;
After our experience, anytime I see DHL mentioned I will do my best to warn people away from them, regardless of who or what they sponsor.

I echo Mike's sentiments.:)

That said, if you were to poll 100 people who had experiences with 100 different companies, you'd find the good, the bad, the ugly... and everything in between. I try to focus on how the person, organization or company handles a mistake rather than the mistake itself - mistakes and screw ups are, after all, human. How they fix them is what counts for me.

Back on point though, Good luck to the entire Kalitta team in Indy - especially Jeff!! Whereas I don't have a true #1 driver I root for on the Flopper category (other than Brandon), I'll be focusing all my energy on Jeff and the DHL crew this weekend.

This thread was started for the purpose of encouragement that the Kallitta funny car was coming back to the biggest stage of drag racing. I'm sure it will be emotional and I hope things go will for that team.

This thread was not started as an opportunity to bash DHL, no matter what your personal dealings with that company have been.

In fairness it should be reported that Jay was right, Google "DHL problems" and you get 3,060,000 reported. Do the same thing with "UPS problems" and you get 74,300,000. I did not bother with FedEx because I think you see my point.

We don't use DHL where I work; only because they do not offer an 8am delivery service. I do know that DHL is huge in Europe, and thier US operation is really still in the infancy stages. But through being at the races the past couple years I've had the chance to meet and converse with a few "higher-ups" within thier USA market - and everyone I've met has been really cool.
But I also echo what y'all said. I know first hand, in some parts of the US FEDEX might be flawless and UPS is crap. Yet in another region it's vice-versa.

And hey... GO GET 'EM MIKRES! Good luck to Jeffy and all the yeller flopper boys!
