It appears that Chicagoland Speedway will cease to be a speedway in the very near future and replaced by a number of warehouses.

I don't see anything about Route 66 Raceway, but this certainly isn't good news. Have you heard anything about the rest of the facility?

I read that the dirt-track and the dragstrip weren't affected.

OK, just put a new track in NYC where AOC chased Amazon away....they could use the jobs

I have not. There was a post about this a few weeks ago on a Facebook group I follow and everyone pretty much laughed at the guy. Not so funny now. ISC also owns RT66 raceway, so maybe it will be up for sale or get leveled too? Maybe being a smaller but more used venue is a good thing in this case.

The dragstrip is not even in the picture from the linked story. It doesn't look like it's included in the plan.

The city responded today and said there's no intent to sell the NASCAR track, just the surplus property.

Route 66 Raceway is fine too, the only thing in question is if the August 28 - 29 proposed date will work with the local health regulations at the time
