"We're just honored and ecstatic to even be nominated," D'Aprile said from his Port Charlotte, Fla. Access Mobility office. "It means a lot since this is not just a team with a rookie driver, but a team with a first year crew."
D'Aprile finished the season fifth in points in one of the tightest championship points chases in Pro Mod history. Only 76 points separated him from the championship and just 45 points from a second place finish. Twice D'Aprile qualified in the number one spot (Rockingham Spring and Grand Bend) and he appeared in two final rounds. In six of eleven races he qualified in top half of the field, including a span of 5 in a row (Texas-Edmonton). D'Aprile also set both ends of the track record at Grand Bend during the 2006 campaign (6.084ET @ 235.10MPH).
"We would never have gotten this nomination without Quain (team owner, Stott) and Evan (team sponsor, Torco Race Fuels). I'm only as good as the people around me and I was surrounded by the best in the business with Quain and Evan."
"We're really looking forward to the banquet. It's a chance to let our hair down and celebrate a tough season."
