Pre-Race Report

Funny Car pilot Cruz Pedregon and team are heading into the Western Swing with the confidence a consistent Snap-on® Dodge® SRT® Hellcat® brings to a track that’s been a winner for him before. In a recent NHRA interview, Cruz says the season so far for the team is like that of prize fighters who get knocked around early on but come around in the later rounds to find their rhythm and range.
“As a driver, I get more comfortable as the season progresses and both championships came after winning multiple races late in the season. So, the Western Swing is exciting for me and for us as a team because it comes with so many good memories,” says Cruz. “And we’re looking forward to getting back to sea level and using traditional parts rather than the combinations that were needed in the altitude of the Denver track.
“We’ll be running the Snap-on ‘Own It’ paint scheme again to honor all the great Snap-on franchisees and remind race fans that those iconic Snap-on vans are businesses you can own.”
Cruz rode along this week with local franchisee Travis Butler, whose name is on the side of the Snap-on Dodge this weekend. He’s owned his franchise for three years after working for 16 years as a master technician. He says what he likes most about his franchise is being his own boss. Travis and his wife are here at the track with us this weekend…celebrating their wedding anniversary with a little nitro.
Cruz’s primary sponsor, Snap-on, is recognizing the work Travis and his clients do as critical to keeping cars on the track and on the road. So it’s asking Makers and Fixers such as Travis, his customers, and you, to share your stories at makersandfixers.com to demonstrate the value and dignity of the work.
