What a race he had! Didn't qualify well, finished in the back in his heat race, but raced his way all the way to second in the feature before dropping back near the end. Easily the best finish ever for him or Capps, and they've both raced almost all (if not all) of the Prelude events. Very impressive!

Ron had a Fourth place finish in the Main a few years ago. Our serv provider sucks here in San Luis Obispo..., could not get the broadcast & spent hours on the phone trying to get the race...!!!:mad::mad:

Could anyone give us an update on the race?

Thanks:

Kyle Busch won-Tony Stewart 2nd-Ty Dillon 3rd. Kasey Kahne had it in the bag till he hit a spun out Bobby Labonte REAL hard. Cruz (whos car had zoomies + header flames painted on) took the low line from the back to running 3rd for a while.
Funny hightlights:
Danica had zero laps in the dirt before last night-was slow but still had fun.

Tony Stewart Took Darrel Waltrip out in his 2 seater late model and proceded to scare the crap out of him. (They were both laughing like a couple of 12 year olds that got away with something.:o ) The cushion was right up to the wall-and he proceded to lean on it.

Fastest "fish out of water"=Tony Kanan from Indycar.

Clint Bowyer was also real good until he slapped the wall hard and was done.

I honestly though Cruz after the Kahne caution had a shot at winning, I think he even got the Lead on "Rowdy" on the backstretch before Tony went WAAAAY inside Cruz and kinda Messed Cruz's car up as he did start dropping back and on the last lap the tires started, to quote Bob Frey "Looking askewed."

Thanks, I will get an update from Ron this morning. He loves this race.
Cruz is a pretty good dirt car driver, and proves it every year at this race.

Ron took me to the Prelude the year he took 4th and I had a blast. (memories came back from the mid sixties at Atascadero & Santa Maria tracks)

Thanks for the update...

Sorry about that John! I haven't watched it every year, and I obviously missed that one! Just awesome to see our straight line guys showing the world that they're race-car drivers every bit as good as the roundy round guys!

He was running third for a long time until some guy that started LAST passed the top three like they were in the wrong gear. (YUP...., some guy named Tony Stewart...!!!) :D:D:D

Santa Maria and Atascadero, remember Dan Simpkins and Tom Atlas? Both champions and they tore up a bunch of 55-57 chevys. Tom and I watched Barrett Jacksons the other day, now he wishes he still had them all. :o
