Creasy helps "Wish Upon A Star" with each round win

BEECHER, Ill. (May 15, 2007) - Torco Nitro Funny Car pilot and reigning Knoll-Gas Nitro Jam World Champion, Dale Creasy Jr., has pledged $100 for each round he wins to the Wish Upon A Star Foundation during the 2007 Knoll-Gas Nitro Jam racing season. Creasy has been a longtime supporter of the Joliet, Ill. charity that grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses.

"Dale has been supporting Wish Upon A Star for seven years," said Don West, Executive Director. "Dale is always willing to give his time and energy to help out with our fundraising events. Now we can cheer even more for him because each time he races and wins it helps kids."

Dale Creasy sees the opportunity as extra motivation for his Creasy Family Motorsports team. "It helps to know that every time we win a round during eliminations we will be helping a sick child get their special wish," Creasy said. "Don and all the folks at the Wish Upon A Star Foundation do such a great job. It's really a pleasure to work with them on this project."

Creasy knows that giving back to the community is as much a part of drag racing as the racing itself. "Evan Knoll and Torco Race Fuels really set the bar pretty high when it comes to giving," Creasy added. "I look at what Evan does with the military tribute cars and I see how it impacts the lives of those folks. I hope this program will have a similar affect for the children that Wish Upon A Star work with."

For 28 years Wish Upon A Star has been helping children with life-threatening illnesses receive a wish. This year, about 25 children will receive wishes. Some will take trips to Disney World, one will have a book published, while others will meet Justin Timberlake, Ozzie Osbourne and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

Wishes are funded when sports stars like drag racers, professional football and baseball players participate in fundraising events throughout the year. While one of the main fundraisers is always the "Softball in the Snow" event held every January, a lot of supporters are quickly embracing the June golf tournament held at the Broken Arrow Golf Club in Lockport, Ill. near Joliet, Thursday June 7th. The Pro-Am style event will give fans a chance to play golf with drag racers, football and baseball players. Some of the drag racers scheduled to play at the event include Dale Creasy, Jr., Jeff Arend and Del Worsham. A $125 donation will include a round of golf with a star, dinner and beverages while on the course. For more information contact Don West at 815-744-9175.
