Cory Mac Confirmed For W S I D International Top Fuel Attack!

(Sydney, NSW) Western Sydney International Dragway is delighted to confirm that NHRA Top Fuel star Cory McClenathan will be competing at the upcoming 3rd Annual International Top Fuel Challenge event at the Ferrers Road venue on Saturday, December 8 and Sunday, December 9.

The USA star from Lake Havasu City in Arizona, is one of the most consistent performers ever in NHRA Top Fuel combat with 29 POWERade NHRA Event wins in 50 Final rounds and the 44-year old is pumped about his racing opportunity Down Under!

"Jim Read and I have been talking about me coming to Australia for more than two years now," remarked McClenathan, "I am delighted that we were able to make things happen this year and I am very exited to come out and visit Australia and from what I am told, race at a very impressive Drag Racing facility."

WSID as a Drag Racing venue IS impressive to say the least, particularly after the stunning quarter mile Elapsed Times well into the 4.5 second zone by Aussie Phil Read and the stunning 4.517 pass by USA ace Scott Kalitta at last years' event, at 332.84 gob-smacking miles per hour in what truly was world class performances!

"To drive a race car in Sydney and at the same time talk to and meet a lot of the drag racers and fans in Australia, who I am told are as keen on the sport as anyone is a real honour and I appreciate the opportunity. I can't wait!"

A perennial Top-10 pointscore performer in the NHRA in the powerful Scott Griffin Motorsports FRAM Dragster, including a fistful of runner-up results in the championship - Sydney fans will be excited to know that McClenathan is taking this event very seriously, bringing over several key crew members including long-time crew chief Wes Cerny. With career best efforts of 4.46 seconds at over 334mph (538kmh), anything can and undoubtedly WILL happen when Cory Mac attacks the Western Sydney Track!

Even more importantly, McClenathan has long been regarded as one of the most friendly and fan-popular drivers on the professional NHRA Drag Racing circuit - the most professional Drag Racing series in the world today.

Earlier this season Cory Mac wowed the NASCAR crowds, by firing up his 8,000 horsepower FRAM Dragster at a NASCAR event. CLICK HERE to check it out on YouTube and also to see Kenny Wallace freak out at a Top Fuel engine fire up

Stay tuned shortly for the SECOND International Driver announcement!
