Con rods, part 2 (1 Viewer)

I received my AJPE con rod yesterday. One of the things I notices on this rod, as well as the used BME rod I have, is the asymmetrical machining. I assume that this is to balance the rod. I am also guessing that each rod, no matter which length it is, is machined to be at a specific mass. That way, even if you have a combination of rod lengths, the rotating mass will be balanced. I'd hate to think what would happen in a nitro engine if the rotating mass was unbalanced.
