COASTAL PLAINS DRAGWAY SWITCHES TO IHRA SANCTION
North Carolina Track Changes Affiliation After 31 Years Under NHRA

NORWALK, Ohio (January 29, 2007) - Coastal Plains Dragway has entered into a sanctioning partnership with IHRA. The track, located near Jacksonville, N.C., has been under NHRA sanction for the past 31 years.

Coastal Plains Dragway (:: Coastal Plains Raceway.com ::http://www.coastalplainsraceway.com/> ) marks IHRA's 20th track in the Carolinas, one of the regions of the United States known as IHRA-country. The track's season-opener is February 10 - 11.

"We'd like to welcome Coastal Plains Dragway and (track operator) Ronnie Humphrey to the IHRA family," said Skooter Peaco, IHRA vice president of racing operations. "This facility brings a lot of tradition and a solid reputation as one of the great racing venues and programs in the country. Word of the switch has already spread to CPR's racers and they have been busy contacting our office already today. They are extremely excited that they now get to participate in the $250,000 Summit SuperSeries national championship."

"This partnership continues our tradition of being the sanctioning body of record in the Carolinas. With Coastal Plains switching, we are happy to announce that every single sanctioned track in the state of North Carolina now belongs to the IHRA member track family."
