lay Millican and the Parts Plus Top Fuel drag racing team Saturday secured the No. 11 starting position for Sunday’s Tire Kingdom Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway in their first race of the year.
“That was huge for us,” he said, “because Parts Plus executives Steve Tucker and Bob Barstow are here and there are more than 300 Parts House guests who are coming to the race. That made me feel a lot better knowing we will be racing.”
Millican’s best qualifying run of 3.871 seconds at 316.15 mph came Friday and it put him 11th overall and up against Shawn Langdon (No. 6, 3.861 at 316.60).
“I am very proud of our team,” Millican continued. “They have done a great job. Our last run (3.891 at 316.08) was fourth-quickest for the session. They are working to get the right combination. We want to make sure everything goes well.”
