Folks... if you have a TV... or can get to one by 11pm EST / 8 pm PST MAKE SURE TO TUNE INTO ESPN 2 TO CATCH THE SEMI FINAL and FINAL ROUNDS OF THE RACE IN CHICAGO....

NO SPOILER ALERTS HERE FOLKS.... THEY ARE FLAT OUT FLYING!!! COULD SEE HISTORY TONIGHT!!

That was BY FAR the most exciting race to watch all season IMO. Amazing runs in both FC and TF, and to top it off got to see my boy LD pull off the win. Just an absolutely incredible night:D:D

Just watched the finals, Fabulous times and racing!!!! Won't go into details as the saying goes you had be there,or at least watching on TV to understand how close it was. Would loved to see stop action on the PS and TF final they were that close you could not tell who won in real time until the winner was posted. Congrats to all!

I couldn't agree more! It was the perfect vegetation day for Flaps (I don't get or take very many).

- I watched the first two rounds from 4:00 till 7:00.
- Then I watched Band of Brothers (episode one - it was June 6th, after all) till 8:00.
- Watched one helluva a hockey game from 8:00 till 11:00...
- And then the best two rounds of drag racing we've seen this season so far!

Now I can't wait for Englishtown!

Those of us who had to rely on our DVR's to pick this up missed the end of the race. This is because the "techno-geeks" spend all their time designing things for computers to make them impossible to operate instead of designing the equipment necessary to track the programs we want to watch. I pay for cable to watch drag racing and for that reason alone.
Autoweek, in their daily e-mail, did not provide a spoiler alert so I know that Hagan won in Funny car.
Some days it gets very frustrating trying to follow this sport.
Hangin' in.
Cheers,
Ed

so when you see two hard chargers like edwards & line go .006 & .007;
IMO this is a result of an extremely tight track and racing at night,
possibly seeing the led's illuminating a fraction of a second sooner?

would the same race have produced .10 to .20 reaction times in the
middle of a sunny afternoon? any thoughts?

great finals.....all of them.

Mike, I'd be willing to bet that the two factors you mentioned played a major role in that particular race. Throw in two "hard chargers" (your words) who were seriously ready to leave quickly, as well.

I feel your pain, Ed. I luckily tuned in just in time to find out about the later broadcast of the last 2 rounds and still had to program in some extra time to be sure I got everything. I too pay for HD cable primarily for Drag Racing but also for sports in general. I wouldn't need TV otherwise. Don't watch Prime Time shows at all anymore.

as it looks on the Weather Channel Website, this friday @ E-Town may be candy-land if it stays mid-low 70s and about 50-55% humidity.

To be honest, I just hope the rain doesn't follow me from Joliet to E-Town. I fly out tomorrow and I hope the rain stays away for the weekend.

at 11am during Final Qualifying of Comp it says 71* 55% Humidity, at 3pm during Pro Qualifying it'll be 75* with 48% humidity and at 7pm during the night session (Hopefully PSM are running at that time so the FCs would run at or around 8 ;) ) it says 71* & 59% Humidity.

I have a question. I noticed Mike Edwards got out of the groove on the top end in the final and kept his foot right in it, straight and true, nice drivin' job!
So did he give up some ET by doing that?
