I notice Bob's car is missing the sponsorship that it had been carrying. Will this effect their plans for a full season. I hope not they are great people.

I noticed the same thing today when I was watching the ESPN3 coverage.

Stupid Fast was nowhere to be seen..Bode racing t-shirts replaced the Stupid Fast crew shirts too...wonder what's going on?:confused:

The sponsorship is from Arbee plastic bag company. I assume that "RB" is for Robert Bode. So I think you can consider him self-sponsored.

He was being sponsored by "Stupid Fast Racing" this year, but this is the first race this year where the car and crew weren't sporting the "Stupid Fast" logo.

Bode and SFR have parted the sheets and gone their separate ways after Chicago.
I also was informed that Bode won't be making the Western Swing:(
I'm sure that Eugene will fill everyone in when he gets a chance.

I'm always on the suspicious side when a company I've never heard of suddenly appears and sponsors a pro drag car. Remember CVEC and Angelle?

Sucks for Bob, wish them the best of luck in finding a new sponsor.

I wonder if SFR has pulled out of NHRA all together? If they aren't sponsoring a car do they get to sell on the Midway?

Apparel deals are usually pretty tricky. I do not specifically know about Bode's deal, but with other apparel deals in the past, it depended on how much merchandise was sold at the trailer. So the racer had to incur all expenses getting the car ready to run and get the car to the track and run the car at the track for an unknown amount of money at the end of the weekend. After the NHRA takes their cut, the track takes their cut, the apparel folks take their cut ... not much left for the racer no matter how many TShirts were sold.

Chris, The one taking the BIGGEST and most undeserved bites out of the sandwich is NHRA, now just a meager $2000 minimum or 20% of gross sales (whichever is greater) for their gold plated asphalt. Everyone that sells apparel at a big show race knows that going in weather your Force, Oakley or SFR. That's why I parked the Dunn's trailer earlier in the year, no ROI, but it will be back on the road at Somona, Seattle, possibly Indy, Vegas 2 & Pomona. (I'm a glutten for punishment)
FYI, If you don't think a merchandise trailer is a ton of money & work call me sometime and after we're finished, you'll fall in love with your recliner all over again.:D

Oh I know they are a ton of work ... I watched you work it hard at the March Meet a couple of years ago. If you make it to Indy I will drop by and say hello.
