Kelly Bluebaugh and Crew Chief Deborah Woodard of the Worlds Fastest Organization (WFO) ran to the Semi-Finals at the Pacific Street Car Associations (PSCA) Arizona Nationals at Firebird International Raceway in Phoenix October 5-7, 2007. Woodard said, the team has been working to prepare the Bluebaugh Racing Monte Carlo for the upcoming Street Car Super Nationals (SCSN) and came to the Arizona Nationals for much needed test time. Bluebaugh managed to qualify the car in the third position with a 6.706 @ 211.86 and the team struggled with clutch difficulty through the racing event. The team caught a break in the first round when Tony Kane who was also testing his car could not make the call. In round two, Bluebaugh managed to win out in a pedal fest against Gil Nevarez in his Sandlin Lumber Company Camaro with a winning 6.902 @ 211.33 to 7.138 @ 204.45. In the Semi-finals, the team came up against number qualifier John Mihovetz in his Accufab Racing Cougar. Still struggling with the clutch, the Bluebaugh Racing Monte Carlo was unable to get around Mihovetz who ran a 6.558 @ 219.44 to Bluebaugh’s 6.925 @ 206.83.
Bluebaugh and crew arrived at the racetrack late Friday after installing cylinder heads, which arrived from Fulton competition earlier the same day. Two weeks earlier, the heads had suffered extensive damage after an exhaust valve broke. Charles Carpenter was instrumental in getting the heads to Fulton for a quick repair and Robbie Ward from Magna Fuel sponsored overnight shipping charges to get the heads back in time for the Arizona Nationals. With new car blues hard at work, difficulty started with the third member in the rear end breaking during the pre-race test session. Ron Weems from Toy Factory Racing allowed Bluebaugh and the team to borrow a spare third member. Following the event, mechanical problems with the clutch were discovered. Woodard stated that it was a good thing the breakage occurred before heading to SCSN in Las Vegas next month. The team has high hopes that the Monte Carlo will prove to be successful now that it is outfitted with the Fulton 728 nitrous engine combination. Bluebaugh said the motor seems to be making plenty of power.

Team Addendum- For those who may not have caught the announcement, some team changes have occurred. As you have heard, Steve Paulauskis sold the Cavalier. This is not a decision that he wanted to make. We will continue to maintain a racing relationship with Steve and his sponsor Team Transit Mix. We will begin racing under the name “Bluebaugh Racing”. The acronym “WFO” is identified as the Worlds Fastest Organization, which has been organized into an LLC. The Worlds Fastest Organization now serves as a marketing entity over all racing enterprises and has interest in Bluebaugh Racing and WFO Racing and Machine.
