Testing in Bradenton Don made the first full 1/4mi. passes in his electric vehical (EV) dragster.
1st) 10.05 @ 129
2nd) 8.74 @ 150
3rd & 4th) the car blew an 800AMP fuse early.

5th) 7.52 @ 178
6th) 7.25 @ 184.
Garlits noted a couple little things to fix, and a rear gear change, and he is sure to hit the goal
of 200mph in just a few weeks.

Anybody notice the tires on that car? Looks like he's running TF tires. Wild looking dragster.

Couple of questions..
How old is Garlits now ? He should build two of these cars, and He and the Greek should run them.
Also, the front pants look like they would have alot of down force, interesting design, but isn`t that typical of Garlits, alsways thinking ahead of the curve.

Not to take anything away from Big Daddy and all of his fantastic accomplishments and contributions to the sport but exactly two years ago yesterday, Larry McBride ran a [email protected] with what is currently the worlds quickest/fastest electric vehicle ever run over a quarter mile.

Pretty sure he has the electric CAR record, but he's wanting to crack 200 mph.

Sure. But as per the thread title, OP, and Dragzine article: "Electric vehicle".

They keep waffeling back and forth calling it the quest for the first 200mph battery vehicle, then first 200 mph electric dragster. They know about Larry because the same guys that did the motor and batteries on Larrys bike are doing this dragster.

Sums it up. Thanks Jay. Though I'm not sure they knew about Larrys numbers :)

Big is at Bradenton today looking for 200!

From Facebook: "Heading to Bradenton to test the new batteries and motor controllers Hopefully we are not starting from scratch. Perfect weather and ready to set the new record !!! from 185.60 mph at 7.274seconds. Rock and Roll !!!"
