Now here's the basic difference between the Irish and the American criminals. They hail the thief for stealing brew and we are all hung up on just gold or money. Go figure.

My Brother just returned from Ohio with a keg of "Dortmunder Gold" from Great Lakes Brewry in Cleveland....225.00 US dollars

Keg of Miller lite or Bud light $76 with core $101 without...

That's why I drink Bourbon... a $30 bottle will last me longer than a Keg....

d'kid

keg of keystone w/tap rental here at WIU......$65.....$45 when you return the tap to the liquor store.....lets you know the quality of our beer of choice!!

Hey Mike, do you have Michelob Golden Light available there? It's the number one beer in Minnesota and I know they don't market it in too many places. I've only seen in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. That's my cheap beer of choice.

Living here in beervana (Portland) I can go to any one of a couple dozen brewpubs and fill up a 64oz growler of any beer they have on tap for about $10. That may seem a little expensive, but when you compare it to a retailer who charges $3.50 and up for a 22oz bottle, it doesn't seem so bad. Since most small scale breweries lack the capacity to brew, bottle and market their own, they'll tend to make at least five different styles available in house, but best of all the beer is probably no more that a week old, which guarantees freshness, so take that budweiser, and your "born on dating"! :p

I pay 46.97 for a pony of Bud and 48.99 for a 1/6 barrel (six shooter) of Michelob Ultra Amber, tax title and out the door...my kegerator will hold one full keg (half barrel) two ponys (quarter barrel) or three 1/6 barrels, I have two taps so I like a little variety. I wish we had some smaller brewpubs in this area but unfortunatly we don't. One good thing is I live in a VERY small town, still the largest keg distributer in East Texas is seven miles away and Anheuser Busch has a Brewry in Houston which ships some suprizingly good "special Batches" of summer light lagers, winter ales and Christmas ale, This place I buy from has a 40x60x16 super insulated metal building, a "warehouse" thats refridgerated to 40 degrees, just for KEGS, it's stacked to the ceiling with some very good beers from around the world, a really cool place for those of us who enjoy a good brew or two:D Thier prices are reasonable too, one of My favorite Texas beers is Shinerbock, it only comes in full kegs, not pony's so rarley do I buy it.

I have a few friends who travel in an RV to see the NASCAR race in Talladega every year. The usually bring 10-20 cases of Michelob Golden Draft Light with them. They've made friends with many of the locals over the years and they cant wait for the RV from Minnesota to show up carrying "the good beer". :D:D

It's Coors Light or Crown Royal for me :)

Brian, same thing happened with us a couple years ago when we went down to Bristol, TN for the August NASCAR race. We brought several cases with us and the guys who were tailgating next to us all kept asking where we got this beer after we let them have a few. They seemed heartbroken when we said we can only find it in Minnesota. Hmmm, I may crack one open right now and watch the snow piling up outside my house.
