Yes I went to that track, starting when I moved to Phx in 1986. I think it was built 1963, by the same man that ran Beeline (naturally, am spacing his name). Saw so many great races there over the years. There was a time, around 2013, when we thought Firebird would close & Speedworld would stay open. Ratz. One of my treasures is a piece of blower, that came off an AA/FA that woofed the blower on the starting line. Maybe late 1980's. Saw a number of Div 7 races there, when the late Bob Curley ran the track. Before the track closed, has the Nostalgia races. No AA/FD or AA/FC, but did have A/Fuel, which put on a great show. Perfect track for that type of racing. When the track closed, I did go out there & bought some old signs for the track. Boy I hated loosing that track. BTW, the track is still there, weeds everywhere, so run down it breaks your heart. Land has never been used for anything.
