Ballance Racing takes the win at the 1st WCOPMA event in `07

The `07 campaign kicked off great for the entire WCOPMA, but mainly for the Ballance Racing team out of Folsom, California and their gorgeous Tommy Mauney built `53 Chevrolet Corvette, after winning the 1st race of the year, and the 1st race for the newly formed association. Driver Doug Ballance flew into Sacramento late Friday night due to prior engagements, forcing the team to settle for just the 1 shot at getting into the field on Saturday morning. Well, they did, running a great 6.59 @ 214 to settle in as the number 3 qualifier.

Throughout eliminations, they took down the likes of Dave Dahlin, Monty Berney, and in the Final, Randy Kay, in the battle of Blower vs. Nitrous on the way to their 1st ever event win with the new hot rod. All the hard work paid off for the team from the off-season. Congratulations go out the entire team of Irv, Doug, Mark, Chris and Bryan Ballance. They would also like to thank all Ballance Construction, Performance Chevrolet, Tommy Mauney Race Cars, Speedtech Nitrous, Ram Clutches, John Hacket Painting, and Foothill Fire Protection.
