Pomona was amazing this year, but it is not the norm for this sport. Rarely does more than one class go down to the end to decide it's Champion.

Shumacher, Anderson, Force, etc. have made a snoozer out of Pomona in recent years. Next year should be another wild one whether you care for the Countdown or not.

The difference

Under the new system - yes all 4 championships will be decided at Pomona - big deal, they won't carry the true weight of being the "seaon long champion" like the old system did.
