Pete has sat out races before. He also owns a Supercars team (our equivalent of Nascar I guess) that runs two cars, and is most likely about to be announced as the homologation team for GM / Chevy. Plus he has a LARGE business to run. He has enough on his plate to not worry about drag racing for a little bit.

He is also one of the most genuine guys that I know, a great guy to deal with - and he is exactly the same person that he was when I first met him when he was racing his Super Street Capri 20 something years ago as he is now as a multi time top fuel champ.
