How 'bout some butter for that Roll you guys are on?!?!?! Congrats on the E-town win, the Indy runner-up, and a spiffy cover of National Dragster!

That was a pretty neat right up and indeed a nice cover page for winning Memphis.

You can contact NHRA and get some national dragsters sent to you, one of the perks of being an event champion.

I only know he's on the cover from the banner ad on NHRA.com. I probably won't see the issue for another four days or so.

Thanks folks-it was really special because I hadn't been at memphis or Indy, nor had Lee's brother-in-law Brian-see Lee's comments in the ND article about the win at Memphis as to what he's meant to the team this year.

There is another reason why it's so special-we lost seven grads form where i teach on Sept 11-their names are on the front of my car-last year at this event the finals were run on 9/11-we made it to the finals for the first time. This year the event was run on 9/10, the day closest to 9/11 and we won it. Maybe we had some extra help that other teams didn't.

Just got mine today. Great looking cover. Congrats to Dave on his latest win, to go along with the other one. Looks like that Zane guy, might be able to drive.;) :D Dave, glad you were able to be there for that one. Where you able to get enough copies from NHRA? I'll mail you mine, if your still short. Just let me know.

I guess you can get free copies if your car is on the cover-free and NHRA are not two words I normally put together.

sorry-no website-it's a 32 bantum built by Kurt Fleisman of ProStart Race cars in
Ashbury, NJ. http://www.prostartracecars.com/ It's powered by a 176 c.i. 4 cylinder Pontiac Iron Duke with a pro stock truck splayed valve head by HRD Racing Heads http://www.hrdracingheads.com/ The motor was built and tuned by Al Ackerman of Ackerman Race Engines (sorry no webiste, but his shops number is 973-546-1900 is you want an engine). Al and I are teammates as you can tell from these pictures and Al runnered up to my car in his F/D at memphis. https://www.autoimagery.com/store/c...ly_Mid-South_Nationals_-_Aug_2006/Comp&img=72
It was always our goal to get both cars in the finals. The tranny is a three speed turbo 200 built by Scott McClay Engineering (again no website, but Scott's number is 661-822-8209). We also get support from Goodyear, Crane Cams, Maryland Performance Specialties http://www.mdperfspec.com/index.html and Advanced Automotive Concepts.

The car is driven by Lee Zane, who was world champ in stock in 2004 and in addition to be a great driver, is a hell of a guy. I'm not just saying that because he drives my car either-whenever we need help at a race, Lee has so many friends who pitch in. At Columbus this past weekend it seemed like there were more people on the starting line with us than there were with the rest of the comp teams. I would say that Lee has the same sort of respect and friends among stocker and super stock racers that the Ambrose-Argenta-Huettman team has among comp racers.

One other thing. One of the best things about winning is the congrats you get from your fellow racers and fans so I hope you know how much the fact that you've all posted your support means to us. Thanks
