The 2008 season is right around the corner and the East Coast ProGlides are ready to heat up the asphalt with their ground shaking – heart pounding races bringing crowds to their feet as if they were live dynamite. As the winter break comes to an end, many are doing preseason testing, setting the bar for this seasons races. A benchmark has been set by Dewayne “Big Red” Silance. On his second pass with a his new car, Dewayne ran a 4.10 at 176 mph. If this any indication of times that will be run this season, it is going to be a hot - record breaking one.
William Brown with his 2003 Chevy powered Jerry Bickel Grand Am and Glenn Jones in his 1963 Buck powered Vanishing Point Corvette are ready to return after both had accidents at the Outerbanks Speedway DoorSlammers Nationals. Both cars have not only been repaired but also have had updates giving them the edge they need. Returning champion RB Smith is ready to maintain the title of East Coast ProGlides Champion but 2007 point contender Mark Spalding will be back with his 1991 Chevy powered Firebird nipping at RB’s heels hoping to take the title away from him. Todd Merritt with his 737 Chevy Hemi powered 1963 Corvette is hoping to be the one of the few ADRL pro - nitrous car to be competing with the East Coast ProGlides this season.
