Ashley Sanford

I think she was driving in Australia for a few races. According to her FB page she was spectating on the Western Swing.

What’s up with Ashley? Is she / will she / has she driven in TF this season?
Last I spoke to her, 2019 is looking good with Alan Johnson Racing. Working the phones, connecting with prospects and trying to secure funds for a full schedule next season. Rapisarda has graciously given her plenty of seat time in Australia the past 12 months, and she did great. I expect that she'll network at the track this season and be ready for Pomona 2019.

It's amazing that a driver who is as marketable as Ashley Sanford hasn't been able to nail down a full time ride yet.

Not really. Being an attractive female race car driver isn't a novelty anymore, and there will always be more "marketable" drivers available than the funding to give them a ride. And BTW, this is nothing against Ashley, it's just the reality of racing. I myself hope she can put a deal together for next year.

Thanks guys. I really like her too. She seems dedicated to it happening ( meaning driving for a living) and has proven she can drive. And she’s out there networking.... so I think good things will come to her. Her story reminds me of Hillary Will somewhat.

There is a very capable driver named Mendy Fry. Been around racing some time, currently in a Nostalgia T/F car. Just won the race at Firebird in Boise. Always wondered why she never got a Big Show ride. She could handle a T/F car pretty well. There are a lot of very talented drivers out there. If I had a couple gazillion dollars......

Hey...how long did it take for Leah to get a ride?
'Ya gotta hang in there -and given the way things are, Leah will have to work at developing sponsors (Of course, now, she's associated with an organization that can help).

Given "the age thing" going one way, but the economy going in the right direction...things might balance out for the better. Hoping for good bump spots in every Pro class!

While the economy is going in the right direction, I think the challenge is in putting together sponsorship packages that can really deliver for companies. Multiple B2B deals seem to be easier to put together than landing that one big, seven figure anchor sponsor.

I saw her out in the Zoo in passing at BIR this weekend. I'm pretty sure my buddy Jeff qualified #1 in Beer Eliminator this weekend.

I saw facebook posts by her both prior and during the Brainerd race, with her promoting Red Wing Shoes. So this is probably one of the sponsors she has lined up once she has full funding. I had also heard that some of her A Fuel car sponsors will be associate sponsors on the Top Fuel car.

You heard correctly.

Maybe just B.I.R. race? - They are a local company. (I have no knowledge - just speculating)
