Any Old School Guy's Want To Chime In ?

What are some good selections/ recommendations of spark plugs to run in a SBC Iron Heads 13.1 CR on C 12 . Not stroked but forged w/H Beams .

Got some bowtie heads 1.6 roller rockers with guide plates and stud girdles but I'm limiting RPM's to 6420.
Demon 850 carb.
Been messing with the injected late model stuff for a long time now and have no Idea how hot a plug to run on such an engine.

Not running any power adders either.
Caught the end of a program about spark plugs and how much difference they can make .

I ran a similar combination back in the mid 80s. If I'm not mistaken, we ran Champion R43TS plugs, which are a couple of ranges colder than stock. Never had one problem with them. They'll look whitish, rather than light brown, after running the engine on C12. This is normal. What you don't want to see is black sooty (too cold or too rich) or burnt electrodes (too hot or too lean)

I ran Brodix aluminum heads but at the time they were pretty much copies of the Chevy angle-plug cast head, without all the trickery Brodix uses today. That plug should work with your BowTies, but obviously, you should install one first to make sure it's compatible.

Thanks for the response ! I'm making some changes this winter including a Aluminum headed engine .
Last old school race engine I had was a 327 in the early 70's in a 56 Gasser !

I'm keeping that engine might use it if they start up Gassers here in Texas again ! I keep hearing they are !

All hail the mighty 327 - the engine of my dreams when I was in high school. A friend dropped a Corvette 327/365 in a '56 BelAir and to this young kid, there was nothing finer on this earth. Better than girls, and girls were good.

From one fellow Texan to another - don't sell it and don't tear it up. It'd be like poking a hole in a Picasso. :)

Accually I'm keeping it whole for a spare or as a bullet for my Gasser I'm thinking of obtaining.
It's fresh after refreshing 10 runs ago and it's a stout specimen !
I had it's cousin in the early seventies in a 56 Gasser I ran in AHRA !
I tell everyone I wish I had the Sreet Rod Vette I have now when I was in High School !
That would really have been cool !
